TYPES OF CONTENT
Our subject matter is bounded only by the abundance of the earth’s oceans and the marine life found within their shores. This list is a condensed cross section of the locations in which we work, and the material available to you.
SHIPWRECKS
Historical Shipwrecks Historical shipwrecks represent an important source of archaeological and historical information. They have often been likened to time capsules because, when wrecked, everything on board these floating communities was often preserved together in one place. Details about how vessels were built, the daily lives of the crew and passengers, cargo composition and stowage, navigation instruments, crockery, tools, clothing and even foods and medicines used aboard the ships can all provide new historical insights.
Artificial Reef Shipwrecks Artificial reefs are man-made habitats created by placing environmentally safe materials (typically concrete or steel and, quite frequently, scuttled vessels) in selected areas of ocean bottom. They serve to enhance recreational fishing and sport diving opportunities in coastal waters.
CAVES
Caves are important sediment traps, preserving evidence of past erosional, botanic and other geological phases that may be obliterated above ground. Cave deposits are therefore proving to be among the most valuable paleoenvironmental records preserved on the planet.
SHARKS
Sharks are generally regarded as apex predators of the ocean, and in such a role help to regulate all eutrophic species below them. They can be considered the last truly wild and free predators on the planet with no fences, roads or manmade boundaries impacting their daily lives. The conservation and study of sharks is critical in exploring the delicate balance of our oceanic ecosystems.
OCEANIC CONSERVATION
Of all the natural resources on this planet, the ocean is by far the most mysterious. One of the best ways to begin a lifestyle of conservation is through education. It is our goal to employ new and creative ways of enlightening the general public about our oceans and the delicate ecosystems within them.
